A wonderful little book, easy to read and explains how to clear blockages to create abundance. Thank you for the simple and easy practical techniques! There are beautiful calligraphies that will assist in the practices and blessings in the book! I'm grateful for this information and am excited to get started!

Not for everyone. Too fluffy. Kindle version hard to read

Update:
I skimmed/skipped through the weird middle part, and found out that the last 1/4 of the book is more read-able/action-able for me, so I changed my review to 2 stars. I thought "Think and Grow Rich" had some weird parts and that this book might complement and explain some of it, but I still don't think that's the case.

I don't consider myself to be a very spiritual person, so perhaps that's why I got very annoyed at this book and stopped reading after a third of the way through. For me, this book has too much fluff (words that are subjective and can mean anything to anyone) and not enough applicable/actionable advice.

For example:
"This good virtue comes to you in the form of Heaven’s flowers, which can be red, gold, rainbow, purple, crystal, or mixed colors. Virtue or Heaven’s flowers are spiritual currency. This heavenly reward repays your karmic debt step by step."
What's that supposed to mean? What the heck is a heaven's flower? and the colors?

Also, it sometimes seems to teach that hard work is not enough, and that you are destined for a bad life:
"One day I was teaching a workshop in a church. A lady said, “Master Sha, I have served for more than twenty years. I have offered lots of volunteer support. I have served many friends, but I still have chronic health issues, relationship challenges, and financial hardship.” I paused a moment. I checked directly with the leaders of the Akashic Records and the Divine. This person in all of her lifetimes had killed more than five hundred people. She carried huge bad karma."

And for some of the actions it does prescribe, it doesn't provide a scientific reason for why. For example it'll recommend repeating a certain chinese phrase. I'm sure self-affirmation is scientifically proven to be good, but why do I have to repeat the chinese phrase? Can I just chant to myself the english translation?
"When you plan, market, control, organize, inspire, balance, execute, and more, spend three minutes to silently chant (say repeatedly) in your heart qi dao xue dao (pronounced chee dow shooeh dow). This chant gives a message to the qi of your business to lead and a message to the jing of your business to follow."

Also, I got the cheap/discounted kindle version, so I find the hard to read.
It also annoyed me that here was so much chinese pinyin phrases in the book. (Even though I'm chinese). The book would present the phrase, translate each word in the phrase, translate the entire phrase, and then explain the meaning. I would've been fine with just seeing the entire translated phrase and the explanation, and the original text could be a footnote or left out. It was tiring to read sentences like:

Huo fu wu men, wei ren zi zhao
“Huo” means disasters. “Fu” means luck or blessings. “Wu” means no. “Men” means gate. “Wei” means only. “Ren” means human being. “Zi” means self.

The kindle version could at least have put each word in bullet points instead of making it all in one line.

I consider myself to be a problem solver and usually a pretty logical person, so maybe this book wasn't meant for me.

I am so thrilled that my book just arrived. All of Master Sha's books have incredible wisdom and power. I have been a student of Master Sha for six years and through his teachings and healings I have transformed may areas of my life including health, relationships and business beyond comprehension. This book teaches about the root causes of why some people naturally have abundant lives while other people have challenges, and it provides proven techniques to increase abundance. A true treasure.

Brilliant! A outstanding book.

What impresses me about Wade Cook is that he teaches you to think for yourself. Stock brokers want you to think that you can't do it without them. If you end up listening to your broker (average brokers) you usually end up broker. No wonder so many dissatisfied investors are suing those guys.
According to a article in USA Today, 87% of people get investing advice from friends, neighbors and relatives and only 13% get advice from brokers and financial planners. The article went on to say that the 13% who got "professional" "expert" advice from financial planners, brokers and advisors wished they had listened to their friends, neighbors and relatives instead.
Why the complaints against Wade? For one thing, he is a rich,easy target. Notice nobody tries to sue a broke person do they? Another reason is that some people are looking for an out. Buyer remorese is common with all types of financial products and programs.
The genuis behind Wade Cook is his ability to take the difficult and communicate that in an easy to understand way. And just think, Wade Cook's real passion is basketball. If he ever focused strictly on the stock market he would really be dangerous.
Red Light Green Light is an excellent book. With the stock market starting to buzz again, this book should be at your side before making any trade. I also recommend Wall Street Money Machine Vol 1, Wall Street Money Machine Vol. 2 (Stock Market Miracles) and 2 Bad Years and Up We Go which is an excellent book to show you how to trade when the markets are acting like they are right now...in a range.
The cost of these books is about the same cost as four trades with your broker and if you listen to Wade, you will actually end up richer, not broker.

It's About Time

I first read SYBIL in 1976 when I was told, the soon to be aired TV movies principle character, Sybil, was in fact, Shirley Mason, my grandmothers step daughter. Closer to home, Shirley\Sybil was my babysitter in the late 40's and early 50's, in Denver Co. The Masons had been friends of the family for years before my Grandma, Florence, married Walter Mason, Shirley's dad. I especially remember Shirley taking requests to draw cute pictures for my older brother and me.

When my grandmother died in 1985, I retrieved about 200 letters destined for the trash, written by Shirley to my Grandma from 1954 - 1974. After reading the letters, lets just say there were discrepancies with the book, SYBIL.

Subsequently several researchers contacted me, such as Peter Swales, expressing concern over the ethics and rampant diagnosis of dissociative identity disorder (DID). Debbie Nathan is not the first to come across this controversy, but she is the first to present it to the public, since Peter Swales and Mikkel Borch-Jacobson elected to publish it in a more academic forum in France.

Debbie Nathan has been extremely accurate and careful with the documents I have entrusted to her. She doesn't claim to be, or have to be a psychotherapist to be a good investigative reporter. To me that's just what she is, and in some ways better equipped to deal with this controversy.

SYBIL EXPOSSED is not written by a wanna-be psychotherapist dispensing her biased opinions. This is a 282 page condensation of facts gleaned from documents, letters, case files, and interviews, most of which have only been open to the public, or otherwise available, for just the last 13 years.

I am grateful for such a compilation. If you look at the footnotes in the back of the book, you'll find thirty-five pages itemizing 580 document citations averaging 30 per chapter to back up her "opinions".

SYBIL EXPOSSED is a must read for anyone who read SYBIL, but also for anyone who loves a great biography, a shared look at three women fatefully tied together.

SYBIL EXPOSSED never faulted Dr. Wilbur for not loving and caring for Shirley\Sybil. Neither did it claim that DID does not exist. After 35 years of fallout, I believe from what I've learned and what this book shows, is Dr. Wilbur's human nature overruled her professionalism and determined her judgments. Read it for yourself, you may not like your conclusions, but truth still matters. No book dealing with beliefs and maters of the mind is going to be 100% black or white, right or wrong. I believe SYBIL EXPOSED is much closer to the truth.

Hard to separate the truth from the author's bias

This book claims to be an expose of Cornelia Wilbur, the psychiatrist who treated Sybil, and Flora Rheta Schreiber, the journalist whose book made Sybil a household name. Nathan makes some good points, but she is not the first person to have questioned Sybil's diagnosis of Multiple Personality Disorder (now DID). The author has done extensive research, which is a plus, but the book is marred by her obvious contempt for Wilbur and Schreiber. Much of the book is character assassination. Wilbur comes off as an opportunist and Schreiber as an ugly, emotionally insecure woman. For example, Nathan criticizes Schreiber's taste in clothing and gives intimate details of her sex life. This doesn't belong in a book that claims to be impartial. They're not relevant to the case she's trying to make. Nathan's vitriol undermines her case that Sybil's diagnosis was manufactured to sell the book. It's impossible to separate the author's bias from her interpretation of what actually happened. "Sybil Exposed" is a disappointing book about a fascinating subject.

VERY interesting! This book exposes at lot that the original book and movie did not. The strange unhealthy relationship the Psychologist had with Shirley after treatment is just not done. It is NOT OK for a Psch Doc to become "close friends" after treatment. Close friends who live together?? Im not even saying there was anything gay going on. But that is totally against treatment and a psychs protocol. That alone and with how involved the person who wrote the book....brings up many red flags that are completely valid. If you read Sybil, you really need to read this book to get BOTH sides to her story. Then it is up to you to decide what is truth and what was forced.

About the Author

Dr. Jerry A. Webman is OppenheimerFunds' Chief Economist. In this capacity, Dr. Webman provides strategic viewpoints on the financial and economic markets to investment management, financial advisors, and investors. Previously, he served as director of fixed income, overseeing portfolio managers, analysts, and traders.

Dr. Webman has been involved in the investment and economic markets for almost thirty years. Prior to joining OppenheimerFunds in 1996, he was managing director and chief investment strategist at Prudential Mutual Funds. Dr. Webman began his finance career at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets. Previously, he was an assistant professor of politics and public affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.

Dr. Webman is a frequent guest on Bloomberg, Fox Business, and CNBC. He holds a BA in political science, with honors, from The University of Chicago, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa, and a PhD in political science from Yale University. He is also a CFA charterholder.

Great on investing pitfalls, short on prosper

I was excited when I saw this book. Webman is an engaging speaker on Bloomberg. The book is smart and funny,but is short on specifics. He makes a strong case for the difficulty we are facing for growing our investments. The future appears to be in emerging markets, however we are still left with this scary volatility that destroys any short or mid term investment strategy. The book could have given more specifics on the basics of savings. He does briefly mention some of the advantages of TIPS. My overall feeling was he missed the tremendous potential that is here in the USA. So much of the book was written with common clich�s "caution, careful" were commonly used. The book is very good description of the investment pitfalls we face, but doesn't give much meat on the aim of how to prosper.

In recognizing that the past will not be prologue, Dr. Webman provides a path for investors to navigate the increasingly complex global financial markets to meet their long-term investment goals. Dr. Webman provides a compelling argument to move investors beyond the blame game and their U.S. centric bias to instead turn their attention to great investment opportunities taking shape all around the globe. The book is as humorous as it is insightful. I highly recommend Money Shift for investors looking to succeed in the 21st century.

well written easy read

Jerry Webman is a very succesful man. He is chief economist for Oppenheimer Funds. I can see why he has this title. This book is very well written. Very informative, yet relatively easy to dig into and extract the kind of information you may be looking for. Anything totally new or earth shattering here? Maybe not, but some good advice nonetheless. His major theses include looking outside mature economies, like the US, Europe or poor old Japan (I have read so many finance books lately about the grim prognosis for our Nippon friends). He recommends the BRIC nations, but then again, this is hardly new stuff. He also recommends investing in corporations that will cater to the Boomer generation as we get older and more needy. Once again, not something I have not heard before, but wise counsel. He also looks into diversification of a portfolio, but does admit that this, too, has its drawbacks and limitations. He does say the prosperity most of us boomers have enjoyed was the exception and certainly not the rule. In terms of stock valuation as well as in real estate. He is quite bearish on bonds, but then again, apart from those who sell them, who isn't. His writing style is usually quite crisp and smart. His humor is very dry, but quite funny at the same time. He pokes fun at the lack of humor of most economists. A very good book. Don't expect to be lunching with Buffett anytime soon, but Webman would be the first to tell you the likelihood of that happening is about as good as Tom Cruise reconciling with Katie. Fun read.

Work of Art

The external of the book alone is beautiful but the words spilled on the pages inside are what make the purchase worth it. It's easy to tell when a writer is censoring himself and that is definitely not the case here. Connor doesn't hold back with his raw thoughts and images. The stories and reflections are thought provoking. The photos scattered throughout are gorgeous. This isn't just another "youtuber book". This truly is a work of art.

An Open Journal

This book is like taking a look at someone's personal journal about their life with a dab of self-help added. Some of the topics might not resonate with people who are a bit older (I take that in the editing process, some of his essays were tiered toward his younger audience). A few of the topics covered in this book are: depression, self-hatred, sexuality, break ups, media consumption.

It can be self-indulgent at times (Connor does state that the book is for himself in the dedication, so that's kind of a given), but you can find yourself in these pages because of the universal topics. It's nice how self-aware he is so even when it does dip into being self-indulgent, you can still appreciate what he is doing by sharing very intimate thoughts.

Even though Connor is a beginner when it comes to writing poetry, a lot of the poems are very nice and I found myself enjoying them more than I thought I would. Also, the photographs are beautiful. The actual physicality of the book is gorgeous, it's a very visually appealing book.

The books shines most when dealing with the topics of depression, sexuality, and heartbreak. Something that really stood out to me is that there are passages that were clearly written in a heightened emotional state (much like a stream of consciousness) and instead of cleaning it up, he left his raw emotions on the page. We all experience situations where our emotions get the best of us, but normally we don't share our irrational thoughts. Here Connor does and it's wonderfully vulnerable and honest. Overall this is a very nice, quick, and easy read that I will probably reach for again.

This book is truly beautiful. I didn't even read the first page of the book and the single sentence before the books starts hit me harder than anything I've read. This book is raw. It's not like someone is trying to sell you their persona; they are being real, raw, and honest about themselves. Connor is sharing some truly deep, personal and powerful messages about his life. I'm reading this book and honestly, want to highlight all of it. He shows his ability to relate and share genuine emotions that are being wrote out. He has taken the unexplainable emotions I've faced and put it in words.

Easy to read and understand. Started one chapter one night and read through to the end of the book it was that interesting. Also, learned alot of things I did not know that I incorporated into a planning session for our event. Thank you!

It's a textbook but...
