good ideas!

Affiliate marketing is the process of earning a commission by promoting other people’s products on your web site. It is one of the sweetest ways to create a passive income stream and honestly I love it. This book has a wealth of information on all the important steps and details, you must be familiar with, if you want to earn extra money while you still can have your day job. The author is experienced and knows what he is talking about. Oh, and there are is a bunch of free bonus books at the end! Recommended.

Good beginners guide

I didn’t really know much about affiliate marketing but was interested in learning more about it and how it works. This guide is great for a beginner if you are looking at generating money on-line simply through this process. It tells you everything you need to know in a clear and concise way that any beginner will be able to understand. It is better than other books I have read on the subject which made it sound very complicated to get started. Worth reading if you are interested in finding out more about how to make money on-line.

Especially in this time and age when the internet is the "in" thing, we need to be aware of what's hot and what's not. This is where this book is perfect for. It has some step-by-step directions on how we can earn lots of money without having to lift a finger with the help of becoming an Affiliate. Very informative. I also got overwhelmed with all the bonus books it has!

A decent starter with no fluff, but if you have read others in the genre, it's not worth the money.

The Book of Alpha is a decent starter for those who are beginning a road to self improvement or possibly becoming an 'alpha' male, but I would otherwise recommend reading other books available on the topic. It is unfortunate, but I believe the pricing is what makes the review difficult.

Books such as The Manual: What Women Want, Models: Attract Women Through Honesty, 30 Bangs, The Rational Male or even The Game (all of which I have red) are similarly priced and delve much deeper into the topic of becoming 'Alpha'. They key points are essentially the index, and in the end I felt I could just summarise things from the index primarily.

What to expect:
- 30 Key rules: He states a rule, delves into a little story relevant to it and gives you some guidance to it.
- Read the index - those are the 30 rules - in my opinion, that was all I needed to read after completing the book.

What I didn't like:
- Cost: I believe this is very high price for a Kindle book which I could have read from the contents page (Many Kindle books which offer this sort of quick no fluff are significantly lower) and many books for the same price offer significant content.
- It's fine to remove the fluff and immediately go into it, but some stories felt no real connection or relevance to the point made.

Why I probably will get down voted:
- I hate to say it, but based on Amazon, most reviews are people who have read/reviewed David's other work.
- There's little comparison to other works on this genre, and I think that's important when considering this book.

I can't believe I paid for this

I bought the book because I saw all the "rave" reviews, but just after chapter 1 I realized it was a joke. He talks about how to build your body and merely gives you website links to learn more. Any goof can write a book and do that. But I understood he probably didn't want to spend 20 pages on all that info, so I went to the link. Lo and behold, the link is dead. So basically chapter 1 is useless in my mind.

The rest of the book up until chapter 7 was pretty much the same.

Chapter 2 - Learning game to attract hot women: go read these two books, they're real good!

Chapter 5 - How to be fearless: go learn martial arts.

Really??? I paid for this "great" advice???

I never write reviews but I couldn't resist writing this one because it seems that all these positive reviews this book is getting are probably his acquaintances or friends. I've learned MUCH more just going on YouTube and watching videos for FREE. There's no real insight into this book other than as directory of other books you should read. If it were only a few bucks then I wouldn't mind, but at this cost - heck no!

About the Author
Dr. Sulabha K. Kulkarni started her career in 1977 in the Physics Department of the University of Pune, India, where she established a laboratory in Surface Science, Materials Science and Nanotechnology. Her area of research encompasses metal, semiconductor and oxide nanoparticles, metallic multilayers, hard coatings, gas-solid interactions. She has international collaborations in many countries and attended conferences both as an invited speaker and as a chairperson. Besides being a life member of various science associations in India, Dr. Kulkarni is a fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences (Bangalore), Indian National Science Academy (Delhi), National Academy of Sciences (Allahabad) and Maharashtra Academy of Sciences. Since 2009 Dr Kulkarni is affiliated to the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune.

Good First Intro to Nano

This is an exceptionally good introduction to nano technology. It describes some of the fundamentals and then describes the processes whereby one can create nano materials. The discussion of process techniques is comprehensive and at a level readable by persons seeking an introduction but aware of the key factors.

The author also provides a good level of effort on applications. The coverage of applications is reasonable but the depth is limited since it is an introduction. My focus is in the medical area and I would have liked to see more discussions. For example EU countries ban nano materials in medical apps and it would be useful to understand some of these regulatory limitations.

Finally the author presents a broad set of "Practicals" which are process related insights.

About the Author
Mike Love is a founding member of The Beach Boys, considered to be the most popular American band in history, with 13 Gold Albums, 55 top-100 singles, and four #1 hits. Love has been the lead singer of the group one of its principal lyricists since its inception in 1961. His credits include such pop classics as "Good Vibrations," "California Girls," "I Get Around," "Fun Fun Fun," and "Kokomo." Suprisingly Good

I'm not a big fan of ML, in general...He seems very egotistical, always trying to make sure everyone knows he wrote all the lyrics and Brian wasnt the only genius, and he wrote Kokomo which went to #1 without Brian, and no, he didn't say "dont F with the formula" when Brian did pet sounds/smile, and answers interview questions about "what are your biggest regrets" with instead of some sort of introspective answer it always ends up being some form of "my biggest regret is the Wilson's all did drugs but I didn't", etc etc.

That said, the book was surprisingly good...Yes, it had somewhat of a revisionist history, trying to make sure he doesn't come off as a villain, but he was also surprisingly honest about things I thought he might not even mention in the book. Surprisingly self-deprecating at times. At least more than I would've expected from the guy who gave that R & R Hall of fame speech.
As a Beach Boy Fan, i couldn't put it down. Was great to hear his perspective on different Beach Boys lore, how he saw things...I wonder how much he wrote and how much James Hirsch just filled in, I would be curious to know that. But overall, as far as readability, I read it all in one sitting and was sad when it was over. (Note: I've read about 3 or 4 Beach Boys books in the last few years, another one that is worth reading [if tabloidy] is "Heroes And Villans" by Steve Gaines. I would put that and this one as the 2 most compelling/fascinating Beach Boys reads...Will be interesting to see how Brian's book is).

There are a few standards by Hemingway and Cheever, but most are contemporary pieces by such writers as Paley, Oates, and Carver and some unknowns. The editors of Sudden Fiction argue for consideration of the shott-short, a highly compressed narrative of under 2,000 words, as a uniquely modern sub-genre of the traditional short story. But while presenting the reader with an abundance of short-short fiction, neither they, nor the writers commenting in the theoretical "AfterWords" section of this anthology, are able to arrive at common agreement as to the aims and characteristics of this form. This is perhaps as it should be, given the diverse antecedents of the short-short in such types as the fablek, folktale, and Zen koan, as well as the myriad directions the contemporary offshoot has taken, encompassing works as different from one another as Tennessee Williams' carefully plotted narrative, "Tent Worms," a modernist fable like H. E. Francis' "Sitting," Peter Taylor's psychological study "A Walled Garden," and the anecdotal humor of Roy Blount Jr.'s "Five Ives." Hemingway and a few other past masters are included to show the historical development of the short-short, but emphasis is on stories of the past five years. Updike, Oates, and Malamud are represented, as are writers recently established, such as Raymond Carver and Jayne Anne Phillips. While not resolving any of the theoretical problems involved, this is nevertheless a lively and thoughtprovoking collection of short fiction. -- From Independent Publisher

Bottled Lightning

~It's a great book to have. You can read it on the subway and chew on a few stories in one transit, or just scan the beginnings and look for what catches your eye, or you can curl up on a rainy day and devour the whole book. It's a great way to meet many writers you've heard of but haven't yet read. The only problem is the editor had this in mind so some writers, I presume, were selected because of who they were not what they wrote. Some pieces are vignettes more than "Sudden Fiction." Conversely, some stories are just marvelous: have no wasted words, tightly woven plots, and compelling characters. These stories are a marvel to see and a must for anyone interested in fiction. It's incredible how much depth is possible in such a short space. If you've ever tried to write this book will impress you with how much the right word is essential. Mark Twain once said "the difference between the right word and almost right word is the difference between lightning and the lightning bug." Here is lightning-or is it the bug?-bottled up.

It's a solipsistic funhouse world that makes "normal" people seem bland and pitiful. Arturo the Aqua-Boy, who has flippers and an enormous need to be loved. A museum of sacred monsters that didn't make it. An endearing "little beetle" of a heroine. Yet he has the capacity to inspire adoration, especially that of Oly, who is his willing slave, and who arranges to bear his child, Miranda, who appears "norm," but has a tiny tail. A spellbinding orator, Arty uses his ability to establish a religious cult, in which he preaches redemption through the sacrifice of body partsdigits and limbs."I want the losers who know they're losers. Guiding us into the world of the grotesque, Dunn produces a novel of compassion, insight, and macabre humor. At its center are Al and Lil Binewski, carnival owners who breed freak offspring through drug use so that they can perform in the show. Over the years, this ghoulish process becomes the norm; indeed, as we share the experiences of the children, we find that for this close-knit family, a child's signs of normalcy are seen as a real threat. What elevates this work is Dunn's controlled, matter-of-fact narrative, her skillful character development, and her relentless insistence that we address these people and their concerns in human terms. Highly recommended.

Heartbreaking, complex, and dark

Oh, this book. I started it the day that I found out the author had died -- I'd kept meaning to get to it, and that seemed as good a time as any.

I don't know what I expected, but it... wasn't this. Geek Love is about a family of "circus freaks" -- the Binewski clan, where each child was borne of love and a new cocktail of drugs: an albino hunchback little person (and our narrator); conjoined twins; a boy with flippers instead of hands or feet; and one normal-looking child who was almost abandoned. The plot jumps between the past and the present; the reader gleans a portrait of a family brought together with fierce love and loyalty and torn apart by jealousy and fear.

Geek Love isn't a perfect book (I was disappointed with the subplot involving Miss Lick; it seemed underdeveloped), and it's not one that I feel like I can recommend lightly, nor to most readers, but it does tell an amazing story that put me through an emotional wringer, leaving my heart thumping or with tears in my eyes, and every emotion in between. It's about the meaning of family, love, and (blind) devotion, and it's unlike any other family saga I've read.

I recommend it to anyone who has read this review and remains intrigued. It's not an easy book, or a light book, or a book of happy endings, but it is amazing, and worth the effort.

Defective book... WONDERFUL STORY!

Unfortunately the book I ordered came missing pages 113-145! I'm dying to know what happens next! Randomly there are pages from the book 'Strong Mothers, Strong Sons' placed in the middle of this book! BLARGH!
The story has been brilliantly dark so far and I cannot wait to continue it once the book is replaced!

DISCLAIMER: This is not a review of Katherine Dunn's wonderful novel, but the printing of it.

About halfway through the book pages 109 - 144 are missing and in their place are pages from a book titled "Strong Mothers Strong Sons". Apparently I am not the only person who has a copy of this misprint, so be careful when purchasing this edition.
