My 5 year old loves this book.

My 5 year old son loves this book and will ask to read it. Not only does he prefer it to similar childrens business books but it's one of his favorites in general. Johnny’s decisions and dilemmas over his friends and purchases really draw my child in, and cause him to think through what he himself would do.
Johnny’s environment - his friends, home life, neighborhood, etc. - are very familiar and easy to relate to. The writing style and illustration is well done, engaging and accessible. I hope to see more childrens books about economics and business topics from this author in the future.

4-Year Old and Daddy Approved! Very worthwhile investment in your child.

My four year old loves this book! As a parent I would love to see more books like this one. The artwork is child-friendly and professional. The underlying message of the book is approaching decision making for kids. It illustrates the economic concept of tradeoffs from a child's perspective, don't worry there is no academic jargon. Throughout the book the young boy encounters situations that require him to make a decsions about things kids really encounter. Such as he is invited to two different friend's parties, whose party should he go to? Why? What present should he get? Why? This book really helps little kids understand that their decisions and how they came to their conclusions matter. I have been able to have really encouraging talks with my 4-year old on what they would do and why if they were in that situation. I hope the author continues publishing more books like this one!

Fun to read

This was fun to read and sparked a good discussion on choices. It was interesting for me to read the real economists behind the scenes.
